The Intensive Spanish Course consists of:

A total of 40 hours of classroom immersion instruction. There are 20 Spanish classes per week (4 hours a day from Monday to Friday) in either the morning (9 am-12.50 pm) or the afternoon (1 pm-4.50 pm). (Class time depends upon proficiency level. A proficiency test will be given online when signup is finalized.)

The program is based on communication which focuses on daily life situations and incorporates dynamic and highly participatory activities. Students notice results from day 1 and by the end of their course they increase their fluency, broaden their vocabulary and communicate in Spanish with more confidence. Additionally, having classes in well-structured small groups with a maximum of 8 students, 6 on average, maximizes student’s speaking time and interactions with the teacher and internationally diverse classmates.

In the evening there are cultural learning activities organized from Monday to Friday usually from 5:00 to 7:00 pm that let students explore Madrid’s most spectacular sites. These activities include walking tours of the city and visits to world-famous art museums that give one a deeper insight into the Spanish way of life and history. It also involves evenings out, where the student can practice Spanish with fellow students and in the community.

Students will be provided with carefully selected modern and interactive materials which maximize student participation, interaction and engagement in class. These materials combine academic textbooks and exercises on engaging subject matter along with topical handouts, learning based games and activities.

Course Certificate: On the last day of course all students receive a certificate that confirms their participation in the course, their level and their attendance rate. The course description and hours of study will also be verified.

It is up to the teacher to determine if the CEU’s fulfill their requirements. The language course is a four hour a day, five days per week, two week session for a total of 40 hours of classroom instruction. ThisIMG_0371 equals 4 CEU’s.
